Youth Team #1 was formed in Summer 2007, and competed in its inaugural season in the Pre-Juvenile category. Starting as a group of individual skaters, they became a team in the true sense of the word as they participated in a series of exhibitions, practices, and team buiding exercises. The highlight of the year was the US Figure Skating Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships in Nashville, TN, where our team placed 8th out of 17 teams in their division -- a very creditable showing for a team in their first year! Team News

Synchro Clinics for Fall 2008 (August 4 - December 19) will be Saturday, July 19 or Saturday, July 26 from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. You must participate in one of these clinics if you want to skate for 2008-2009! Mark your calendars now -- more information and a registration form are available on the Fall 2008 Information Page.
On-Ice Practices for Fall 2008: Thursdays at 4:40 -5:30 p.m. (August 21 - December 18th, except for November 27th) and Fridays at 6:40 - 7:30 p.m. (October 17th - November 14th) For any changes to the schedule, look for emails from the Team Coach and/or Manager.
Off-Ice Practices for Fall 2008: Thursdays at 4:00 -5:00 p.m. (August 7th & 14th); Thursdays at 4:00 - 4:35 p.m. (August 21st - December 14th, except for November 27th) For any changes to the schedule, look for emails from the Team Coach and/or Manager.
Teamwork Sessions for Fall 2008: Thursdays, August 7th, 14th, September 11th, November 9th, and December 13th. More details to be announced. For any changes to the schedule, look for emails from the Team Coach and/or Manager.
Congratulations to the Inner Edge Pre-Juvenile Synchronized Skating Team who made their competitive debut at the US Figure Skating Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships in Nashville! The team skated early Friday morning (8:00 a.m.) and placed a very respectable 8th place out of 17 teams competing in their division. As the top four teams are invited to the National competition, it is not unreasonable to hope that next year we may edge up into that category. Over 100 teams in all competed, some from as far away as California.

The Knoxville Figure Skating Club hosted a send-off party at Cool Sports on Friday, January 25th. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to wish our very awesome synchro skaters "good luck"!! Also, the team hosted an end-of-session party in conjunction with practice on February 8, 2008. Skaters who were interested in learning about synchro were invited to come join the team and find out about the upcoming Spring Session.

Team coach is Margaux Akright.. Margaux, who is also a Cool Sports coach, has collegiate synchronized skating experience at Western Michigan University as well as being a member of the USA World Synchronized Skating Team and Team Captain. She has been a part of synchronized skating in Knoxville for three years now and looks forward to continuing to grow Inner Edge in a competitive direction.
Team Manager for the Youth Team #1 for 2007-2008 was Caramia Milloway. Caramia's daughters Emma & Olivia have been involved with synchronized skating for the past 3 years. She has spent numerous hours reserving hotels, sending e-mails, placing phone calls and scheduling competitions / exhibitions. She is the driving force behind the Team.
Pre-Juvenile Team members for 2007-2008 included: Alana Cooper, Maddie Luchsinger, Fifi Mahfouz (Team Captain), Sophia Henderson, Rachael Kyker, Emma and Olivia Milloway, Keely Biladeau, and Amelia Adkins.
